Dean has a degree in Sports Studies majoring in Coaching, holds a Level 2 Senior Coaching Licence with Football Federation Australia, he holds a level one Cricket Coaching Licence with Cricket Australia. He is a level 2 Sports Trainer with Sports Medicine Australia and also he is a member of Sports Medicine Australia. He is an accredited Punch Fit Trainer with Punch Fit Australia. Dean is a qualified lifeguard and a swimming instructor.

In the 2011 season Dean Harriton has been appointed by Football NSW the u11’s and u12’s Project 22 Head Coach for the Sutherland Region. This will take place over 42 weeks of the year with the best young aspiring footballers in their age group from the Sutherland region. He will be coaching them for state team selection in the following year.
